Within Cubane you can set up an unlimited amount of Parishes and data types. An example of a data type would be baptisms, burials etc. You can easily edit or delete these at any time.
Your data would be displayed in a table format on your webiste, and each data type can have unique columns in the table. For example, weddings could have a license column that can be populated with that data, while baptisms wouldn’t have this data so this column wouldn’t display. You can have as many or as few columns as you want for each data type.
Add data records in Cubane and then use a dropdown menu to select which data set and Parish it belongs to. You can then fill in the unique columns for this data set. This will then show up on your website.
With aid of Genealogy Online’s Cubane admin tool, uploads are now much easier than before with titles and years extracted from the CSV data and while at first Cubane may appear very complex with the multitude of tasks it performs, individual tasks are quite intuitive and quickly performed.
From a personal point of view being responsible for uploading and updating records, use of the new admin software has made it so much easier than previously was the case, our society now approaching 4 million records.
Our system has also been featured in The Federation of Family History Societies newsletter.
I decided it was about time I got to grips with the new-style NFHS and last week used the re-designed version for the first time – and what a revelation! It was so easy to use right from the start, the website was clear & clean and results returned quickly in a far better format than previously. This time round NFHS was a joy to use – and I never thought I would say that about a database!
